New House of Horror marks, ironically, a return to the old. To the old internet, the one that flourished before the asteroid of social media came along to do what it did. I’m taking influence from all the sites I used to visit in the days of old: fridaythe13thfilms.com, halloweenmovies.com, fullmoonpictures.com, but especially houseofhorrors.com. As a young teen, I cannot describe just how much that website contributed to my horror education. I spent hours in The Vault, the sort of wall of fame of horror movies, reading about films I’d only kind of known about but never seen, or many I had simply never heard of at all.
This site is a love letter to the House of Horrors and all of those sites that fueled my young love of the genre, updated to reflect both my personal tastes and, more than anything, the wealth of horror that has been released in the nearly two decades since the end of those classic sites. This is a celebration of horror old and new, a study of the past with a glimpse to the future. Enjoy your stay!
